Why does competitive tennis seem to almost disappear from the pathway once players leave juniors? Tennis is supposed to be a sport for life.
Imagine a genuine WA circuit incorporating historic championships, major regional tournaments and State League players, with points, prize money, promotion and an end of year championship. That would give adult competitive tennis an identity again and create something sponsors and spectators could actually follow.

I think participation numbers have fallen since Saturday trading hours altered.
Less participation in the prestigious events from lower levels due to in my opinion. Taking a whole day to play 2 sets and consolation events. The family has too many other options than to hang at a club with at best basic facilities.
Less competitors, less prestige in winning a 4 man draw.
People expect to be given start times and are not keen to wait and watch for others to finish before they can play.
Shotgun start for pennants
4 players 4 courts at 1pm
Empty courts at 1pm and have to beg to play on vacant courts.
Too many teams for the courts available? Increase team selection pressure and the prestige to play Div 1 rather than a pulse and a racket
