What a moment for West Australian tennis!

Talia Gibson has powered her way into the 4th round of one of the biggest tournaments on the calendar — the 5th biggest tournament in the world, Indian Wells— and in doing so has now cracked the Top 100.

For those who have followed her journey closely, this doesn’t come as a surprise. The talent has always been there. The work ethic, the belief, and the vision have been clear for years.

We were fortunate enough to chat with Talia some time ago, and even back then she spoke about exactly what she wanted to achieve in the sport — competing on the biggest stages and pushing into the world’s best.

Fast forward to today… and she’s doing exactly that.

Sometimes the best stories in sport are the ones where a young athlete sets the goal, believes in it, and then goes out and makes it happen.

WORLD MASTERS TENNIS IS COMING BACK TO PERTH!

Big news for WA tennis - Perth has been announced as a host city for the 2027 World Tennis Masters Team and Individual Championships, bringing some of the world’s best Masters players back to Australia for the first time since 2009.

From 25 April to 8 May 2027, Perth will host the 55+, 60+, 65+ and 70+ age groups, with competition played on grass at four iconic clubs:

🎾 Royal Kings Park Tennis Club

🎾 Cottesloe Tennis Club

🎾 Alexander Park Tennis Club

🎾 Dalkeith tennis club

The wider 2027 championships will also be staged in Portugal and Türkiye, covering age groups from 30+ right through to 90+ — a great reminder that tennis truly is a sport for life.

For WA tennis, this is a fantastic opportunity to showcase our clubs, our grass courts and our tennis community to players and supporters from around the world.
